Office Hours The Town Justice Court is open to the public during regularly scheduled Court dates, and as follows: Monday - Thursday 8:30am - 12:00pm 1:00pm - 4:00pm The Town Justice Court is not open to the public on Fridays.
The Justice Court handles many responsibilities, including but not limited to:
Criminal matters including felony arraignments and preliminary hearings
Misdemeanors and violation of Penal Law
Jury and non jury trials
Alcohol and Beverage Control Law
Money actions and actions to recover chattels not in excess of $3,000.00
Environmental Conservation Law cases
Agricultural and Markets Law
Local Laws and Ordinance violations
Mental Hygiene Law
Public Health Law
Landlord-tenant matters - Summary proceedings and evictions
Tax Law
Transportation Law
Vehicle and Traffic Law
Family offense proceedings with the power to issue Orders of Protection involving same family or household members (related by blood, marriage, former spouses, common child, etc)
