Dog Shelter - Animal Control Services

As of January 1, 2019 the Town of Monroe has entered into an Inter-Municipal Agreement (IMA) with the Town of Woodbury for Dog Control Services.

For a dog running loose please contact the Law Enforcement Agency for which you reside, at which time the Animal Control Officer will be contacted. PLEASE DO NOT CONTACT THE ANIMAL CONTROL OFFICER DIRECTLY. Thank you.

Dog Control Fees: These fees are collected by the Animal Control Officer in the Town of Woodbury when redeeming your dog.

1. For Rabies vaccination: $50
    
2. Impoundment fees:
   First offense: $100
   Second offense: $150
   Third offense: $200
    
3. Boarding: $30 per day

Application for Dog Licenses: These fees are collected by the Town Clerks Office in the Town of Monroe. For more information, visit the Town Clerk's webpage.

1. For spayed or neutered dogs: $16/1 year license, $43/3 year license
    
2. For unspayed or unneutered dogs: $28/1 year license, $74/3 year license
   **Please note...to apply for a 3 year license the rabies certificate must cover the 3 year license period. 
    
3. Seniors over 65: 
   For spayed or neutered dogs: $3/1 year license, $9/3 year license 
   For unspayed or unneutered dogs: $8/1 year license, $24/3 year license 
   **Please note...to apply for a 3 year license the rabies certificate must cover the 3 year license period. 
    
4. Replacement dog license tag: $3
   **Late fee: Any dog license renewed after 60 days of due date will have a $5.00 late fee applied to license renewal
