Good Afternoon,

After a thorough analysis of all Street Lights located in the Town of Monroe, the Town Board
adopted a Street Light Policy which allows for the maintenance of only those street lights located
on Town cul-de-sacs, intersections, and other areas necessary for safety reasons. During our
recent research, it was discovered that over the years, many street lights were erroneously placed
on many Town and County roads, as well as Private roads.
The elimination of several streetlights will result in significant cost savings. As always, our
ongoing goal is fiscal responsibility for the benefit of our taxpayers.
Please feel free to contact my office at 783-1900, extension 105 should you have any questions
or concerns.

Cordially,
Tony Cardone
Supervisor, Town of Monroe

The Town Clerks Office will be attending a meeting on Wednesday December 5th from 11:30am-2:30pm, and will be closed during this time. We apologize for any inconvenience.
