Village of Monroe Founder’s Day will take place on Saturday, September 15th from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. in the Village.  The event commemorates the founding of Monroe in 1741.  The event includes a street fair that kicks off with a 5K race and continues with music, field events for all ages, food and fun!

The Town of Monroe Planning Board Regular Meeting Scheduled for August 21, 2018 at 7:00 PM has been cancelled. The Planning Board Members will be doing a site walk visit instead.

The Planning Boards next scheduled Workshop meeting is September 13, 2018.

Town of Monroe roads at Billwood, Elmwood, Hilltop, Ryan Court, Suttie, and Williams Court are tentatively scheduled for paving on August 22 and 23 weather permitting. It will take approximately 2 days to complete.  Drivers are reminded to drive cautiously on those roads while the roads are being paved.

The Monroe Historical Society has rescheduled its annual mine Iron Tour for September 8th

departing from the Monroe Senior Center, 101 Mine Road at 10:00 AM.  The tour will

include one mine, and then a tour of the Greenwood Iron Works in Arden.  The ore from

Monroe Mine was transported from the mines to Arden to be melted into bars, and then shipped

to the Parrot Foundry at Cold Spring, NY.  The tour will be conducted by Town Historian 

James Nelson, and Doc Bayne.  The tour is free and reservation are not necessary.

The Town Board of the Town of Monroe is considering adoption of Local Law Introductory No. 8 of 2018. The purpose of this Local Law is to allow the Town of Monroe to adopt a Local Law amending Chapter 57, of the Town Code Concerning Alternate Members of the Zoning Board of Appeals.

The proposed Local Law is available at the Town Clerk's Office, at 1465 Orange Turnpike, Monroe, New York, 10950, Monday Friday, 9:00 am — 4:00 pm.

The Hudson Valley Chapter of The Make A Wish Foundation recently helped Wish Child Tomas by granting his Wish of a personal Merry-Go-Round for his yard.  The Town of Monroe Highway Department & The Town of Chester Highway Department were instrumental in excavating/preparing  the area and relocating another apparatus to allow for the installation of the Merry-Go-Round.   Pictured with Thomas & his Family at the unveiling are Town of Monroe Highway Employees  and IBEW 363.  Members pictured are Thor Midtbo, Billy Kyles,  Highway Superintendent  John Sherne,  Rob Marsh and Chris Cocks along with Tomas and his parents and sisters.

On Tuesday and Wednesday, from 5:30pm to 7:00pm all rides for anyone attending will be FREE. 


At 7:00 pm you will be required to purchase tickets or bracelets to go on any ride.

7:00pm - 11:00 pm - Wristbands or tickets will be required to ride
